Law enforcement in Sacramento are probing a gun violence incident that took place on April 18 2026 at the Howe Community Park area just as Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies were shutting down an unlawful assembly of an estimated several hundred individuals.
Prior to the Shooting
Deputies were first dispatched to the Arden-Arcade park at approximately 6:30 PM on April 18 after getting calls of subjects reportedly carrying hidden weapons. Soon after, another report was received describing a possible physical fight taking place inside the park.

This ballistic evidence pointed to that a shooter had been aiming south from along Cottage Way in the direction of the Home Depot store. The store itself was put under lockdown during the incident. CSI units alongside detectives remained on scene well into the night.
Arrests Made
Intelligence received through scanner monitoring confirmed that a suspect Kia had been stopped in Solano County California. Four people were held for questioning. Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies were traveling to Solano County to bring the suspects back for formal questioning. Video reviewed at the scene showed that two individuals had fired weapons.
